![]() The United Nations has launched an international campaign to reduce poverty and hunger in Latin America.
A U.N. statement says research indicates a farmer with four years of elementary education is almost nine percent more productive than a farmer with no education. That number increases to 13 percent when those farmers have access to materials such as new seeds or farm machinery. The world body’s Food and Agricultural Organization is organizing the workshop, along with its Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
