 Reverend Feofan Baptized 150 Inhabitants Of Beslan

 Nalchik, Russia—More than 150 Beslan inhabitants have been baptized in the Monastery of the Dormition of the Most-Holy Mother of God at the Orthodox church of Ss. Myrrh bearing Women in gorge Kurtatinskoe of Northern Ossetia, ITAR-TASS reports. The sacrament of Chrismation accomplished His Grace, the Right Reverend Feofan, Bishop of Stavropol and Vladikavkaz. “Many of those who suffered the tragedy in Beslan accept the Baptism, people come the whole families.” – said Bishop Feofan. “I admire ossetic people. It is necessary to have the big courage to be kept from revenge and to keep dignity after tragedy of such scale as in Beslan, and to not go on a way of reciprocal violence”, - Bishop has declared. He is convinced, that clerics of traditional religions should explain incessantly to people perniciousness of aversion of people of other belief. Bishop FEOFAN emphasized - «The most terrible and long wars in a history of a planet - religious ones» Meanwhile, he has noted, on Northern Caucasus the numerous sects approving the exclusiveness and irreconcilability to the people of a different faith became more active. “Incessant educational work of ministers of Orthodoxy and the Islam is necessary”, - has told Vladyka.
Yesterday in Nalchik Bishop Feofan has celebrated the festal Divine Liturgy and Great Blessing of Water in concelebrating with clergy of St. Simeon Cathedral. He has called parishioners to make efforts to arrange and to improve the life in the native place, instead of “ to search happiness in other places of Russia “.
